As Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you. The Faculty of Health Sciences was founded in 2010 to provide health science programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, research and consultancy in the health science disciplines and to produce graduates in the heal science field. It is both a privilege and an honour to serve the position of Dean. I began in this leadership role on July 14, 2010, and since then, have had the pleasure of meeting numerous students, alumni, community, and research partners in a variety of contexts.
The faculty’s mission is to provide the very latest and up-to-date education of the highest quality in order to produce ethical and competent health professionals who will make an impact on the health and well-being of the community.
We are a diverse Faculty with four departments; Nursing, Laboratory, Midwifery and Public Health. These departments offer diverse perspectives on the broad nature of the science and physical activity, their related professions and their interactions and administrative organizations in a variety of contexts. We are leaders in experiential education, as a vital adjunct to classroom learning, and all of our students have opportunities to apply the knowledge they acquire in the classroom in practical real-life situations. To show our appreciation and stay connected, we host several annual events for our students, community partners and alumni.
I look forward to working together with you, whether you join us as a student or academic staff.
